How Ghost Indexx works
What is Ghost Indexx?
Ghost Indexx collects first-hand accounts of how companies communicate with job applicants during recruiting, and turns them into an aggregate Ghost Score for each company. It exists so candidates can see, before they apply, how likely a company is to leave people waiting without an answer.
What is a Ghost Score?
A Ghost Score is a number from 0 to 100 that summarizes reported company response patterns. Reports are weighted by recruiting stage (later stages count more) and by recency — recent experiences matter more than old ones. Scores fall into three bands: lower scores mean more reported ghosting, higher scores mean more reported follow-through.
A score describes reported patterns at the company level. It does not predict what any one person will experience, and it is not a judgment about any individual.
When does a company get a score?
A company page can exist before it has a score. A Ghost Score appears only after a company has enough verified reports from enough different reporters. Below that threshold, the page simply shows the company's details and how many reports are in.
Who can file a report?
Any signed-in member 18 or older can report a recruiting experience they personally had. To keep the data honest there are a few limits: accounts must be at least 7 days old, one report per company every 90 days, a monthly cap on reports, and a screenshot is required as evidence every time.
What should I report?
Facts about your own experience: the company, the stage you reached, the outcome (ghosted or the recruiter closed the loop), what happened, and roughly when contact last happened. Report both good and bad experiences — companies that follow up deserve credit too. Notes must stick to facts: no names, emails, phone numbers, or links.
How reports are reviewed
Does every report get reviewed before it counts?
Yes. Reports go through automated screening first — checks for duplicate evidence, personal information in notes, gibberish, and mismatched screenshots — and then a human reviews each one before it is verified and counted. No report affects a company's public score until it passes review.
What happens to rejected reports?
Reports that fail review — for example because the note contains personal details, the screenshot shows someone else's information, or the evidence doesn't match the story — are rejected and never counted toward a score. Reports with personal details can often be fixed and resubmitted with the details removed.
Can companies respond or dispute a listing?
Every public listing has a Dispute option, and anyone who believes a listing violates the law can submit a takedown request. Submissions are reviewed by a human before anything is removed or changed.
Reporter identity and privacy
Will anyone know I filed a report?
No. Reporter identities are never public. Your account is linked to your report only so we can enforce submission limits, prevent duplicates, and investigate abuse. Public pages never show who filed a report, and evidence screenshots are private.
What happens to the recruiter email or LinkedIn link I include?
That field is optional and always private. If you provide it, the value is immediately converted into a one-way fingerprint that can't be reversed. It is never displayed, never published, and never used to score, rate, or list an individual — only companies receive scores. The fingerprint exists solely to detect duplicate reports and abuse.
Who can see my screenshot?
Only authorized reviewers. Before upload, you redact personal details in your browser and the image is rebuilt without hidden photo data. The system then automatically blurs any remaining emails, phone numbers, links, names, and faces. The screenshot is deleted shortly after a report is verified, and otherwise 14 days after review.
What can the public actually see?
Company pages may show the company's name, industry, employer type, and aggregate statistics from moderated reports once thresholds are met. The public never sees reporter identities, account emails, evidence screenshots, raw notes, or anything about individual recruiters.
Can I delete my account or my data?
Yes. Email Steven_leon@live.com with the subject "Privacy Request" to access, correct, or delete your information. See the Privacy Policy for the full details, and the Terms of Service for the rules of the service.
